Nutrition Coaching for Women

I offer in-home nutrition coaching for women in Grants Pass Oregon. As women we are inundated with lose weight quick schemes, magic pills, and constantly berated with comments about our bodies and how they "should look".

I like to focus on how we should FEEL in our bodies. I do not teach or support any mainstream diet. I will teach you how to sift through all the misinformation and health claims on processed foods. I will teach you how to eat to provide your body with the best food so it can work properly. I will teach you how to manage your portions and still allow yourself to eat the foods you love.

Who is Nutrition Coaching for?

I work with women who have never had children,  are pregnant, have just passed the 6 week postpartum checkup... women with toddlers, teenagers, young adults, grandkids, and even great grandkids!

We are women who are strong and capable. I'll help you learn how to work with your physiology and unique physical traits to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. You are not to young, too old, or too far gone.

It is never too late (or too early!) to start taking control of your nutrition.

What In Home Nutrition Coaching looks like:

Here's how the process works.

Step 1:

When you schedule your intro visit I will send you a tracker sheet. This is mutually beneficial because it helps you see what you are eating (and how much), it helps us to see trends, it helps us to see how your eating habits affect your mood and energy levels, and it helps us to see how your daily schedule affects your eating habits. This tracker sheet shows us what micro and macro nutrients you may be missing and what areas we need to focus on first.

Step 2:

We have an intro visit so that we can talk about your current habits, any allergies/sensitivities, and what your goals are. We also talk about what you have tried previously and how it worked for you. We will put into place some non-scale victories (these are super important!) and create a plan to help you reach your goals in your desired time frame. Lastly we start talking about your tracker. Specifically what you noticed while you were tracking your food and what changes you would like to see.

Step 3:

We get to work! We typically meet once a week for the first few weeks. I answer any and all of your questions, give you challenges, and guide you towards reaching your goals with the information I think will be most beneficial for you.

You work hard. You start to crush your goals with less and less guidance from me. You have learned how to eat nutritionally dense foods, and allow yourself to enjoy the food you love too. You have learned that eating is a balancing act and how to find that balance in your daily life. You also know how to embrace the small and big victories because you are amazing.

Step 4:

You move on. I love to work with clients 1:1, but my goal is to help you reach your goal so that you don't NEED me anymore. You are strong, confident, and capable.

We can of course schedule later "check in/accountability" appointments to see how you are doing a few months down the road.

And I am always here to answer questions! I don't leave you high and dry, or move on until you tell me and I feel confident that you are ready.

I. LOVE. ALICIA. One of the things that I loved about working with Alicia is she didn't try to completely change my health habits by pointing out where I was wrong. She simply said let's find something that meets your needs and your goals. I follow a Whole Foods Plant Based (WFPB) Lifestyle and my concern before I started was that she would want to steer me into a more chicken and vegetables route. Thankfully she supported my desires and helped me to figure out how to break negative habits so I could go back to eating WFPB."

What you get:

Individualized Coaching Sessions

I've said it before... but it's worth saying again. Every session is catered to your bodies needs, and your personal goals.

Each weeks topic will be specifically chosen to help you achieve your goals as quick as possible and will always answer your questions.  These sessions are guided by you and what you want to work on and learn more about.

30/60 Minute Sessions

For some clients 30 minutes is enough time to answer all your questions, learn a quick lesson, and move onto the challenges for the week.

Some clients like to have more discussion time and don't like to feel rushed or hurried. I personally could talk nutrition for DAYS!

You get to choose if a 30 minute or 60 minute session aligns better with your schedule and goals.

Home Visits

Yep. That's right. I come to YOU! Home is where we spend the majority of our time, and home is where we are most comfortable being ourselves. I believe the habits we have at home have the biggest impact on our health and happiness. We want to make sure you have a solid foundation to build your goals on.

*I also provide the option to do coaching over the phone or via zoom. This was a really great option for clients who are still more comfortable maintaining social distancing. I have also had out of state clients! So this is a super convenient option if you aren't local but still need help.

The principles that Alicia teaches you are complete game changers. She shifts your mindset and teaches you how to live an overall better life. No matter what you think you know about being "healthy" I promise you, Alicia will broaden your horizons. This is the real deal, this will change your life. This is a sustainable lifestyle that you can enjoy without the "diet" guilt that I've always battled with. Alicia understands real life, she understands that there are some moments worth enjoying. So have that slice of cake at your son's party. Not only have I lost weight working with Alicia, but she has taught me valuable lessons in cooking and shopping. I now enjoy food more."

Here are some of the most common topics we discuss:

Each client is unique, so each coaching session will be different based on your individual needs:

1. JERF (Just Eat Real Food).
2. Accountability
3. Complete in 3 (making sure your basic nutritional needs are met EVERY time you eat!)
4. Allowing yourself to eat yummy food (AKA no cutting/restricting foods you love).
5. Importance of Water!
6. How food affects our mood, our energy levels, and our ability to think clearly.
7. Blood sugar management and why it is important for everyone
8. Balancing your diet without dieting
9. Portion control
10. Mindful Eating
12. Breaking dependency on processed foods.

More than anything, your involvement makes a huge difference! None of my coaching sessions are set in stone. We talk about your biggest questions, concerns, struggles... you name it! I'm here to support you on your journey to creating happy healthy eating habits. If you are interested in learning how my approach is different and more successful than dieting send me an email or a text (541-441-3265) and let's talk about it!

Meet your Nutrition Coach

Alicia Clements

I became a Certified Nutrition Expert because I think food is delicious and shouldn't be blamed for all our problems! Food is good, as long as you know what to eat and use some self control. Unfortunately there is a LOT of conflicting information, a lot of misinformation, and a lot of delicious food that really really really isn't good for us. Plus self control is really hard to master on your own--so let me help you!

Nutrition coaching allows us to connect on so many different levels! It's not just food, it's also therapy, self care, mental health, friendship, and a deeper understanding of how your body works.

I believe our bodies are meant to be used, moved, and respected. As women we are pulled in so many different directions, and sometimes (often times) the things WE love to do gets pushed back in favor of what our families need/want. That's life and that is totally okay! But I want you to know that it's okay to take care of yourself too.

It is so hard to know what to feed your families, especially if you are on a budget, have allergies, or are trying to eat healthy (seriously... so much misinformation!), and on top of it all there never seems to be enough time. We do not have time to spend an hour in the kitchen cooking and then cleaning up 3x a day... plus snacks for moms with littles at home.

Food should be enjoyed and it is okay to enjoy some of your favorite foods (this is a picture of me with my favorites!). I don't believe in cutting out or limiting foods unless you have an allergy/sensitivity or you simply don't want to eat it anymore.
